Every now and then I get asked to do a wedding invitation caricature. The original idea was to do a western theme – but the bride-to-be decided against it, and went with a more “traditional” look.

I did a caricature gig in Sedona recently. I have the habit of showing up early – esp if it is someplace far… so I had some time to kill. I did a quick study of the view from from where I worked, and took a few pics.
The gig was great! It was a wedding reception with a pretty fun crowd. Had I not gotten ticket on the way home for a bad headlight, it would have been perfect!

Commissioned work for a 1 year anniversary. She is a teacher, he is a DJ.
This was a tricky caricature since they took the “kitchen sink” approach. Here is an excerpt from the email:
“The way I see it in my head is the mountain as the back drop and the st.louis arch going across the paper like a rainbow. We are both jumping in to a car with are swimsuits on and I have the headphones around my neck and you can have her kind of tossing the book aside. Make it look like we are driving to a camping site, And the car could have stickers on the cars with all the places we went to on our honeymoon and St.louis and Chicago and a Thanksgiving Vegas.”
Then they added a tidal wave, Dr Seus, etc. etc.
All in all, I think it turned out ok!
